Logroo La Rioja and Cuenca go ahead in their debut in the European League

Five Spanish teams signed up for the European Men’s Handball League the second continental competition, benefited by the veto of the Russian and Belarusian representatives: Fraikin Granolllers, Bidasoa Irun, Benidorm, Cuenca and Logroo, the latter by invitation. Granollers was directly integrated into the group stage and Bidasoa and Benidorm will enter the competition in their second qualifying round. Cuenca and Logroo do it in the first this weekendanticipating his debut in the Asobal League, which will be delayed on its first day.

in the European League top continental teams compete like the Germans Fchse Berlin, Flensburg-Handewitt; the French Montpellier; the Portuguese Benfinca, winner last year, or the Danish representatives, among others. Cuenca and Logroo have received two other really powerful ones, the German Lemgo and the Danish Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, respectivelythat make the continuity of the two Spaniards very difficult in this competition.

The Logroo starts this Saturday (3:00 p.m.) on the Lemgo track, team in which the Guardiola brothers militate. It does so with noticeable casualties compared to last season, such as those of Agustin Casado (Melsungen), Toms Moreira (PAUC) and Eduardo Cadarso, who is still injured. He will have to withstand the pressure that always involves playing on a German track – he did it last season at Magdeburg – to have options to move forward.

The Cuenca opens its participation on Sunday (12:30 p.m.) in El Sargal against a rival with a young squad, which has lost much of its potential in the last two seasons, but which responds to the Danish handball pattern, rich in talent and resources
